Urban Decay Naked Palette Swatches

24 August 2014

Happy Sunday people! Today's post is about the Urban Decay Naked Palettes, unfortunately..I did not get myself the Naked Palette, so sorry about that. I have always wanted to blog about them but I did not have the time, but I do now!

In the recent two years, I have got hold of three of these Naked Palettes, thanks to the beautiful shades that Urban Decay makes! *swoons*

Every Naked palette that Urban Decay has released is unique in its own way - the shades are all made in different but beautiful shades. The Naked palettes have topped the sales for Urban Decay and hence, every new palette features new gorgeous shades (love love love!). Right, let's start!

First, we'll start with the smallest and lightest palette of the Naked line - the Basics palette. It is Urban Decay's first MATTE palette that features six gorgeous neutral shades to build on or you can wear alone. The palette also includes four never-before-seen shades (yay!). Besides, it has everything you need for the perfect neutral matte eye. It is the long-awaited, multipurpose MATTE companion to the Naked line.

You can use these shadows to contour, line and highlight to create the right amount of definition for any occasion - casual or smokey, or for the days when you're craving more colour, you can pair them with your fiercest, boldest shadows (like the smokey cat eye - meow!). The texture is richer than other mattes, and the colour goes on smoothly with a luxe finish, and it is never chalky or powdery. There's even one demi-matte shade, Venus, which has the tiniest touch of satin which isperfect for highlighting and adding dimension to your eyes.

While this palette is small, it is easy and perfect to pack for travel (it's smaller than my iPhone 5S!) thanks to its slim and sleek design. The palette also comes in a sleek compact that is embossed with a pretty, metallic 'NAKED' on the front that has a slight sheen and a suede-like feel that you practically want to hold it forever.

Best of all: it's the palette EVERY woman needs in her beauty collection!

My review: I like the palette because it's small and perfect for travel, and the shades are neutral and matte for me so that I can just add a tint to my eyes without making it too bold. It's also great because I can use the light cream shades to highlight my brow bones and cheekbones!

The Naked 2 palette features 12 taupe-coloured neutrals. It has 12 pigment-rich, taupe and greige (a colour between beige and grey) neutral eyeshadows. You can paint your eyes on the gorgeous shades ranging from pale to deep, matte to sparkly. This collection allows you to achieve lots of neutral looks, smokey dramatic eyes, and everything else in between!

The palette also includes a double-ended, cruelty-free Shadow/Crease Brush which is available only in this palette.

My review: I love this palette because of their matte and shiny shades! I used to use the shade 'Tease' to draw on my eyebrows as my hair colour was very light at the time, and also add a hint of colour to my eyelids! I also love the shiny shades, especially 'Busted' to to create a shimmery-but-not-so-smokey eye look for proms and formal events! You can also use the 'Blackout' shade to tight-line your waterlines to create a fuller lash look before putting on your mascara.

The Naked 3 palette (which was released late-last year) comes with 12 beautiful rose-hued neutral colours that are ranged from pale, shimmery pink to deep black matte with rosy red micro-glitter. It is the long-awaited follow-up of Naked and Naked2 palettes which are two of the industry's all-time bestselling palettes.

You can choose from super-smooth mattes, gorgeous pearls to glimmering metallics. Its the beautiful blend of ingredients that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich colour, seriously-long staying power and it's super blendable. The palette includes also a double-ended shadow/blending brush.

My review: I really like the palette as it contains such beautiful colours - the rose gold! Wear this and you'll look so blushed and cute but sexy and chic and elegant at the same time. As per usual, you'll want to give a hint of colour to your eyelids and I will recommend you to use the shade 'Nooner' (if you have light-medium skintone like mine), or you can also use the shade 'Limit'. Add some pink-shimmery shades like 'Buzz' or 'Dust' to show off your eye colour!

Which one is your favourite palette? Do let me know.

Love,
