ODE TO POWDERS

8 June 2015

Like many others, I, during the summer would prefer rather tinted moisturisers and lightweight foundations compared to those colder months, and I too, love setting my makeup properly, especially in this super hot weather.. so here are a few powders and setting spray that I love to use.

One of my favourite powders and the one that I would always go back for, this is the one. A luxurious face powder consisting of minerals and to provide a coverage of lightweight yet natural-matte complexion. Use this to set your makeup or touch-up during the day, it doesn't disappoint with its hype.

I got this in a travel size from Sephora, it uses formulas to create makeup that is invisible to the naked eye and cameras. With a sponge separating the brush and the powder itself, you can control the amount of powder seeping through. It too, provides a natural matte and lightweight coverage to set the makeup but it also could be used alone.

The Les Beiges was created as a simple and intuitive powder to allow the skin feels like a breathe of fresh air. The powder creates a sheer, healthy glow to the skin as the lightweight and antioxidant powder shields the skin from environmental stress and sunlight thanks to its SPF 15 / PA++ filter. Its ultra-protective formula is enriched with cotton flower and white rose plant cells and is gentle on all skin types. It has a scent of rose so it makes the application feels like a dream. It comes in 5 different shades.

For a more affordable budgeted powder, this is the one for you. The powder is enriched with exotic fruit therapy to restore and rebalance the skin. Its ingredients contain Yuzu for anti-shine and Sharon fruit for hydration. It's easy to blend with its ultra-fine texture and its feather-light feel will make the application easy. It comes in 4 natural shades.

I have both full-sized and travel-sized, and they're the one of the few setting sprays that I go back to every time. It refreshes the skin while it fixes (or rather, sets) the makeup perfectly into the skin while it doesn't contain harsh particles. Suitable for all skintypes, it doesn't cause skin to be flaky under makeup. Who knew that a primer and setting water could be so great?

Again, I own a full-sized and a travel-sized as I like taking the travel size on vacation with me. My skin is somewhat combination oily so I picked up the oil-control version. Use their light-as-air sprays mist on the skin weightlessly to help prevent makeup from sliding off. It controls oil, deflects surface shine to keep the oil at bay, while it keeps skin looking beautifully matte.

What are your favourite setting powders or sprays?
