THE SKINCARE EDIT: MORNING ROUTINE

17 June 2015

I’m sure by now you all know that I’m already home and as it’s summer all year long here, I have had to switch up parts of my skincare routine. Nair* reached out and asked me to share my summer skincare routine with you all to highlight how smooth skin is the foundation of happier skin. Let me tell you more about the changes I made for the hot weather and how my skin is happier for it!

First, as usual, I cleanse my skin using the Radical Hydrating Cleanser. It has been my favourite for a while now, it just works so wonderfully without ever being too harsh on the skin: it cleanses, tones and hydrates, and leaves my skin smooth – it does all the tricks (read about it here).

Then, I reach out for toner and the La Roche Posay Serozinc Toner has still been my favourite toner even after so many months, because it absorbs so quickly and it keeps the oil at bay. It's a kind of toner where you just spray it across on your face and it's super cooling as well and it will just makes you feel better. Pretty amazing huh?

As it’s pretty humid and hot here, I have added some more products into my routine. Laneige is a Korean skincare brand, and they include different types of categories, and it's the Laneige Water Bank Essence for skin hydration. My skin gets dehydrated when I travel to a different continent so this was the perfect item to bring into my skincare regime.

On alternative days, I would swap the Water Bank Essence with the NUXE Huile Prodigieuse® Multi-Purpose Dry Oil for Face, Body and Hair. Boy, should I have been looking for this over winter. This oil contains 6 precious botanical oils - macadamia, hazelnut, borage, sweet almond, camellia and St. John's Wort; it also nourishes, repairs and softens skin and hair. I use it on my body when it needs to quench its thirst.

For moisturising, I think none can compare to the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Daily Moisturiser for Face SPF 15 PA++. I have many other moisturisers that I adore but this is like one of the holy grail items that I can't live without as it smoothens and moisturises my skin while providing some SPF coverage. It leaves my skin so soft that I feel super relaxed and happy every time after putting it on.

While SPF15 doesn't provide enough coverage for me, I reach out to the Benefit Specialist Dream Screen SPF 45 PA+++. It has been my holy grail sunscreen for the past year and I wonder myself why didn’t I write about it. The application feels like a dream as it's not as greasy like the usual sunscreens and it just provides the maximum sunscreen coverage that I need.

On to my lips I love a good lip balm, and after coming home, I get to shop at Sephora and this time I picked up the product that everyone seems to rave about - the Fresh Honey Sugar Lip Treatment in Ruby. It seems only appropriate that for the same price with the original that I should pick up one that does give me a lip tint, right? It works miraculously as it contains beeswax, and in my last experience with beeswax I picked up an allergic reaction but this lip balm didn't disappoint. It moisturises my lips, smoothens it while giving it a bit of a tint!

I’m also excited about Nair releasing their new Argan Oil collection, the hair removal formula features the natural and restorative argan oil to remove short hairs swiftly and painlessly. You can use it on your body and face to leave your skin beautifully soft and smooth. Just like me, Nair believes that silky happy skin has a great impact on your mood.
