THE BEAUTY EDIT: FIFTY SHADES OF BERRY

25 October 2015

Well, alright I exaggerated about fifty shades of berry but... you get my reference. Berry (and bold red) shades are the shades I love to wear all year long and especially I love wearing them during autumn and winter because they just contrast everything on your face, but on this post I'm only going to speak about my favourite berry shades for the lips - I will save the nail polish part for another!

FRESH SUGAR LIP TREATMENT in BERRY

There is no shame in me to saying that this is one of my favourite lip balms (with the perfect berry shade), and most of the time when I attend my lectures I love to wear this lip balm as it's moisturising on the lips. Packed with sugar which is a natural humectant which its job is to prevent any moisture loss on the lips, some nourishing oils including meadowfoam and blackcurrant seed oil which is to moisturise, grapeseed oil rich in antioxidants and of course, SPF!

TOPSHOP LIPS in DEPTH

A deep berry shade which is the boldest lip colour anyone can wear - I pretty much think this lipstick is the perfect shade this coming Halloween. Go vamp or just wear it along if you were gonna dress up as a zombie...? Pretty much anything else but I wear this shade only and only when I'm dressing up! A smooth and velvet touch on the lips, you can wear it alone for a matte finish or top it off with a lip gloss for good shine.

STILA LIP AND CHEEK STAIN in ACAI CRUSH

Wow, I've been having this lip stain for a year now and yet I really don't use it much. Not because I didn't like but because I was usually bombarded with new shades of lipsticks I really want to try and who to blame but myself for being such a shopaholic. It comes in a liquidy berry that I think is perfect for the lips as I wouldn't really use it on the cheeks. When I say this doesn't budge all day (and all night) long, I mean. This, whoa, has the longest staying power for a lip stain!

CHARLOTTE TILBURY MATTE REVOLUTION LIPSTICK in LOVE LIBERTY

I really, really love this lipstick. So smooth on the lips, yet so moisturising - how could a lipstick be such a moisturising lipstick? Okay, I honestly don't know what I was trying to say; this lipstick shade is very smooth to wear on the lips and stays velvety on for as long as you're wearing and it's not even drying at all.

What are your favourite berry shade lipsticks?
