THE BEAUTY EDIT: DRUGSTORE MAKEUP

15 November 2015

While I adore the high-end beauty brands from NARS to CHANEL and from Urban Decay to DIOR, sometimes I also find that drugstore beauty brands are quite worth the hype and money as they may sometimes be the dupe products of the high-end brands in which, counts as an asset of worth to my purse. On this post it was shown that we would be using drugstore makeup for a autumnal look - while I, apologise in advance, that I do not own any drugstore eyeshadow - in which case I would set my eye out to look for worthy products.

BOURJOIS HEALTHY MIX SERUM GEL FOUNDATION in VANILLE | £10.99

An absolute favourite of my drugstore beauty ventures this foundation has been the utmost favourite among all. While the gel texture allows it to be applied on the skin smoothly, the serum infused in it declares its function soon after the application to create the flawless base for any skintypes to provide a satin finish on the skin.

MAYBELLINE INSTANT ANTI-AGE THE ERASER EYE CONCEALER in NUDE | £7.99

A highly-praised under-eye concealer that you'll ever need is the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Eraser Eye Concealer. I adore this concealer like Blair Waldorf adores her CHANEL, period. It's most valuable function is covering the dark circles I might find in the mornings while I cuss and blame myself of not going to bed earlier than I should, but it does the trick of making you look you had those 8 hours of beauty sleep. The consistency isn't very liquidy but slightly creamy and doesn't appear to show any dry patches from the skin; and sometimes I use it on post-acne scars so it's the best of both worlds.

BOURJOIS HEALTHY BALANCE POWDER in VANILLE | £8.99

While I love the dewy look on my skin sometimes I find that my foundation may slip or get shiny a few hours later and the perfect dupe for any high-end powders like MAC and CHANEL would be the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder to set your base and also touch up hours later - with their compact packaging it's no wonder this powder is one of the hit products from the brand. You may find me mentioning rather most of products on this post Bourjois but as the brand does produce great quality products, it's worth the mention.

BOURJOIS D√ČLICE de POUDRE BRONZING POWDER in BRONZE | £7.99

There, I said it, mentioning Bourjois once again because their products are of great quality and worthy of spending as I continue to shine my love for this bronzing powder. It's a surprise the last time I mentioned this product was a year ago and I think the rediscovery of this was a good one. I love bronzing my face where the light hits my face for the subtle look so thank you, Bourjois, this bronzer smells and looks like chocolate I almost licked it!

BENEFIT GIMME BROW FIBRE BROW GEL in MEDIUM/DEEP  | £18.50 (sale now at £16.65)

I apologise that this wasn't really a drugstore product to begin with as I realise soon enough that I somewhat lost my Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara somewhere at home but I think they're both mention-worthy. While the Benefit Gimme Brow gel contains fibre to enhance the growth of brow hairs while giving the brow a quick sweep of tidiness and texture, Maybelline Brow Drama does almost the same job, sans the fibre part.

STILA STAY ALL DAY WATERPROOF LIQUID EYELINER in BLACK | £14.99

BAH, in my personal opinion I think that this eyeliner is kind of drugstore-y to me, though I'm not sure if it should be(?). I love this eyeliner a lot because of its waterproof quality and think I should be on my third one now, though I may have found an opponent worthy of mentioning but hey, let's let it shine now shall we? It allows me to create the perfect flick with its thin soft tip and stays all dayyyyy.

MAYBELLINE BIG EYES WATERPROOF MASCARA | £8.99

Ah, another mascara that just makes me love the evolution of beauty so much in which, Maybelline does mascaras very well. This mascara comes in two ends with one side for creating the perfect batting of the upper lashes that I promise you would attract anyone from the yard, and the other end for the lower lashes for the dramatic dolly eye look. Boom, all for less than 9 quid, hey?

NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM in 10 MONTE CARLO | £5.50

Red lips are my thing. It's no surprise I'm in love with matte lip creams/stains that the Sephora ones are one of my favourites so the NYX one is obviously going to be on this list. Monte Carlo is the perfect bold red lip if you're aiming for a good day or night out so prepare to find your glass no sign of the lip cream because it's just non-budgy and it stays on the lips perfectly so you won't have to worry about it getting into your teeth!
