THE BEAUTY EDIT: A PART OF MY BASE COLLECTION

19 November 2015

I'm sure it comes to no surprise that I am a hoarder of foundations and bases and needless to say, those shown on this post are just a small part of my collection as I have another pile of them back home sitting and doing nothing. And since it's been a while that I've done my base collection post so I thought why not?

LAURA MERCIER OIL-FREE TINTED MOISTURISER SPF20 in NATURAL | £34

I love using this tinted moisturiser when it comes to those days where I just want a minimal base especially when I go for work because, I don't really like a thick and heavy base unless it's for an event out or a formal occasion. This tinted moisturiser doesn't really cover all blemishes and stuff but it's light enough to cover imperfections.

KIKO UNIVERSAL FIT HYDRATING FOUNDATION in CREAMY BEIGE | £6.90

I love that this foundation is just so affordable from KIKO and I think KIKO is too underrated! I apologise though but they changed the names and numbers of the shades so I couldn't find mine (it's 06 Creamy Beige on the packaging). It deserves so much more recognition in terms of their makeup, they catch up so fast that they actually own a whole store here! Though I really like their eyeshadows but I still have so many things to try from the brand.

NARS SHEER GLOW FOUNDATION in PUNJAB | £31

BAHHHH this is absolutely one of the best foundations ever! LITERALLY. I can't live without this foundation because it gives such a sheer glow (hence the name of the foundation) and it just gives the right amount of glow and the coverage is fantastic, it's medium yet buildable and it doesn't become too cakey or thick on the skin. I know that lots of people rave about this and I can see why, because I too, rave about it!

DIORSKIN NUDE AIR SERUM FOUNDATION in 020 | £33

Another of my top foundations, this is one great investment if you adore high end beauty like me, even though sometimes I lean towards the drugstore side for the longest time. This foundation gives the best coverage of basically full coverage and the right amount comes with the dropper and I would say, fairly 2-3 drops is enough for a beautiful satin finish. Your skin, but better. Me, getting crazy over this foundation? ...absolutely!

CHARLOTTE TILBURY LIGHT WONDER FOUNDATION in 3 FAIR | £32

This too, would be considered one of my favourites but it has been topped off by the Dior foundation even though they give different finishes. This one gives out a really dewy glow and if you're looking for a foundation for the summer, this is the right one for you. The coverage is as well rather light but I would say, light to medium and it's very glowy.

MAC STUDIO FIX LIQUID FOUNDATION SPF15 in NC25 | £22

This was my second MAC foundation about 2 years ago if you ask me about foundations, I would have told you I had no idea which one suits me best but I don't think this beats the Pro Longwear foundation. Though this is perfect for oily skin, the shade always doesn't match up with other MAC foundations. I would find Pro Longwear's NC25 lighter than Studio Fix's NC25 and it seemed like it would be too yellow on my skin even though I have yellow undertones. Ahh the struggle! But I would say the coverage for this foundation is really full coverage, a little bit like the Sheer Glow but thicker and no glow.

YSL TOUCHE ÉCLAT FOUNDATION in BD20 | £31.50

Ha, I find the shade of this foundation too light for me at first but then I found out with the right bronzing it would just be the perfect foundation for me. It's meant for an amazing glow if you want to look like you have the glow, I think the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder is slightly similar to this foundation, but the coverage for this foundation would be medium and it's really light on the skin. Ahh YSL...

BOURJOIS HEALTHY MIX SERUM FOUNDATION in 52 VANILLE | £10.99

I pretty much love this foundation when it comes to one of those days where I just want a base where it's not too thick and not too thin, you know? The coverage is buildable but I would say it's kind of medium and it's perfect for dry skin as well as combination!

CHANEL LES BEIGES HEALTHY GLOW SHEER POWDER SPF15 in  30 | £35

One of the only powders I would use and throughout this whole year I think it's by far my favourite powder, but for the fuller coverage I will always love the Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation - it gives the fullest coverage with a matte finish. Of course this powder is best for touch ups and setting the makeup but I tend to use this as my base. Infused with flower extracts it boosts the skin metabolism and gives a radiant finish. C'est magnifique!
